I’ve been working on transit trade-related business recently and am not very clear about customs declaration forms. I’d like to ask: Does transit trade not have customs declaration forms? If it does, how is it different from general trade customs declaration forms? If not, how can the legal source and destination of the goods be proven during the goods transfer process? I’d appreciate it if someone knowledgeable could answer this for me. Thanks!

Transit trade does have customs declaration forms. In transit trade, goods are shipped from the producing country to the transit country and then from the transit country to the consuming country. When goods enter the transit country, there will be corresponding import customs declaration forms to prove the legal entry of the goods into the transit country. When the goods leave the transit country for the consuming country, there will be export customs declaration forms.

Compared to general trade customs declaration forms, transit trade customs declaration forms involve more complex trade relationships. General trade typically involves direct buyers and sellers, while transit trade involves multiple parties, including the producing country, transit country, and consuming country. Additionally, the trade method on transit trade customs declaration forms will be marked as "transit trade."

Customs declaration forms are crucial in transit trade. They not only serve as proof of the legal entry and exit of goods but also play a key role in subsequent processes such as foreign exchange settlement and taxation, ensuring the entire trade process is compliant and legal.
