I'm quite interested in trade and would like to know if mainland China still practices entrepot trade nowadays? I know it was quite common before, where goods would first be shipped to one place before being transported elsewhere. But with mainland China's trade developing so rapidly, I'm unsure whether this trade form still exists. If it does, in which sectors or regions is it primarily conducted?

Mainland China is still actively engaged in entrepot trade. As an important trade method, entrepot trade continues to play a role in the mainland's economic activities.

In some coastal port cities like Shanghai, Shenzhen, and Ningbo, entrepot trade is particularly active. These regions, with their advantageous geographical locations, advanced port facilities, and well-developed logistics systems, provide ideal conditions for entrepot trade.

The sectors involved in entrepot trade on the mainland are also quite diverse, covering industries such as electronic components, textiles, and plastic products. Through entrepot trade, the advantages of different regions' resources and policy differences can be leveraged to achieve better trade efficiency. Meanwhile, with the advancement of the Belt and Road Initiative, increased trade between mainland China and participating countries has created new development opportunities for entrepot trade.
